Mussa, Caramelo, Tadeus, Pelayo, Biloba and Zamya with their new families in France

November transportations

Thirty four galgos have left Spain this month and it is wonderful to know that they will be settling in with their new families in time for Christmas and before the cold winter comes.

Mussa, Caramelo, Biloba and Zamya from Albacete and Tadeus and Pelayo from Almendraljeo went from Vic with Jacqueline and Max of Association de Sauvetage des Levriers in France. As you can see from the photo here the dogs looked very well after lots of TLC at Pep’s kennels in Vic, Barcelona.

We have been able to fund the veterinary care of four more galgos rescued and looked after by Gail and Andy of Noah’s Arc, Murcia.  Josephine of Greyhounds Rescue Belgium flew to Alicante to collect Bracken, Lilly, Louisa and Louis at the beginning of November.

Wilfrid of Levriers en Detresse drove to Vic last weekend to collect Lucho, Xena and Laura (originally from Mada of the RECAL refuge in Almendralejo) and Toni, Espino, Felio and Olivia (originally from Balbino of Arca de Noe, Albacete).

Waiting at Vic for Wilfrid from Levriers en Difficulte Laura has arrived in France thanks to Wilfird and LED, here she is with her new Mum

On the same weekend Elisa of GACI has just taken another 17 galgos from Albacate for homing in Italy and Slovenia.  Please look at these links to see some lovely photos of the galgos arrival in Modena.

Welcome to Italy!                               Photo GACI Galgos at Vic wearing their winter coats

GIN has been able, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, to fund the veterinary care of these galgos at the refuges and/or kennels along with covering boarding costs and contributing towards transportation costs, when possible.

Many thanks to everyone involved for making all of this possible.
