This walk, approximately 4¾ miles long, should take around 2 hours at a leisurely pace. It covers a diverse area of woodland and open heath with some water stops for the dogs to enjoy. It is mostly a well-made path, but it can be quite muddy in a couple of places - especially after heavy rainfall. Please wear appropriate footwear dependant on recent weather !
Please respect other users of the
forest, especially ponies and horse riders, and maintain control of your dog.
Take the A338 from Ringwood towards Fordingbridge. Just before Fordingbridge filter left, signposted Godshill B3078, then right to cross under the main road. Go all the way through the village and out into the Forest, up past the first car park on the right. Next car park is below the road to the right, just after signs on left "Godshill Pottery" and "Saltings". Watch out as it is easy to drive past!
There
should be plenty of space but it may well be busy with other dog
walkers and family groups so please take care entering and leaving
the car park.
A

to Sue North before the start of the walk.
