May Transportations

Jacqueline and Max from Association de Sauvetage des Levriers went to Vic to collect Kebap, Aurora, Moro, Cheyenne, Doner and Blues (originally from refuges in Albacete and Almendralejo). You can see them in the photo on the right on arrival in France. They all had families waiting for them.

Balbino and his team at the Arca de Noe refuge in  Albacete have again been busy this month preparing more galgos for Italy and Slovenia.

Following the transport on the 16th May,  Elisa of GACI sent us the following message (kindly translated by Monica Monti):

Dear all,

Many thanks for the success of the last trip. This has shown that, the collaboration between our organisations is growing stronger and stronger.

Many thanks to all GACI volunteers, our GIN friends, and everyone at the Arca de Noe for helping these beautiful galgos. Balbino, many thanks for your patience! You talk a lot to Sabrina, who's the only one here who can speak Spanish fluently and who's also an excellent friend and very good at the adoption process...I have got limited time to deal with many issues now, as our organisation is getting bigger and bigger, and there is a lot to think about, so I trust my helpers/friends implicitly. I couldn't do it without them. Thank you.

Thanks to all at Albacete!

Thanks to GIN for the financial help and for all they do for these lovely creatures.

Thanks to Nina and Co. in Slovenia. They are doing a great job. They are both committed and serious about this cause. We'll always be willing to help them as they are very good people.

14 galgos went to a new home on Sat.16th May 2009. From now on they will have a proper bed to rest on, food in their bowls and lots of love.

GACI will now stop for the summer. All of a sudden, the temperature down here has risen to 17 - 30° C. Too warm to travel. The last transport of Irish greyhounds will take place at the end of June, after which we will start again in September. In the meantime we will try to relax and recharge our batteries....

We truly love you all!

Many thanks on behalf of all of the dogs rescued so far.

Elisa and everyone at GACI

Transportations to Belgium and France are now being planned for next month and galgos are coming in from Albacete, Almendralejo, Cadiz, Madrid and Murcia to be readied for these and future transportations. Here you can see the galgos at the refuges and kennels in Spain who will soon be transported to homes thanks to the wonderful adoption groups we are lucky to work with.   GIN International Aid
