The galgos from Kimba arrive in Belgium

More lucky galgos left the kennels in Vic this month to go to their new homes in France.   Jacqueline and Max collected six galgos for rehoming on 24th April and Wilfrid of Levriers en Difficulte collected six more on 30th April. 

We are pleased to be helping Refugio Kimba with their galgos. We have for many years sent parcels of donated coats, medicines etc to this refuge but have now managed to organise, with help from Josephine and Greyhounds Rescue Belgium, to take some of their rescued galgos for rehoming.

We are working closely with Concha at the refuge in Cadiz. She prepares photographs of each dog which allows Josephine and her group to publicise them on their website in order to find homes. We are happy to fund their veterinary treatment in Kimba (testing for Mediterranean diseases, sterilisations etc.) and also fund the transportation costs. Nine galgos,and puppy Melina, left Cadiz with Carol and Colin of Pet Couriers for their journey to Antwerp.  

Elisa of GACI and Nina and Nina of Slovensko Dructvo za Pomoehrtom have found homes for eighteen galgos in Italy and Slovenia.  Many thanks to Balbino and his team at Arca de Noe, Albacete for preparing these galgos for us.  Please visit the links below to see more lovely photos of this transportation.

On 30th April our quarantine galgos, here in the UK, left the kennels in Gloucestershire with their new families. Pat, our Homing Officer, will be writing an article soon about Release Day, for the website  - this is a very special day for everyone involved and especially for Pat - who celebrated homing her 100th galgo for GIN. Many thanks Pat from all of us for all you do to find lovely homes for the galgos we can bring to the UK. Our new galgos will be arriving soon.
